The Box

The GI Joe Collectors' Club Exclusive Kursk set comes in a box that measures 17"x12.5" and features a painted cover featuring a depiction of the Greatest Armored Battle of All Time. The box lists the contents on each side, one for the Russian Tank Commander and one for the German Tank Commander, each of which is a talking figure with the foreign head sculpt, one in blonde, one with red hair.

The optional extra set includes two extra figures and their amazing collection of gear, seen below.

The Contents

Opening the box reveals two fully-dressed talking GI Joes, each in its own compartment on either side of a leatherette-type black central raised flat-board on which lies a metal cloisonne pin commemorating the 2003 San Fransisco, CA Club Convention with the slogan Defender of Freedom. Along with this is a cloth sew-on badge of the same design.

 

The Documents

Also inside is a file folder labeled Battle of Kursk containing the 2003 convention programme.

A Certificate of Authenticity is also included, authorized by the GI Joe Collectors' Club Director, Brian Savage and GI Joe Product Manager, Derryl De Priest.

 

 

The Figures

On the left-hand side of the box is the Russian Tank Commander. On the right, the German Tank Commander, fully decked out in uniform and gear.

The Russian comes dressed in boots, breeches, 1943 gymnastiorka, canvas tank helmet, goggles, Sam Browne belt with holster containing a Tokerev TT33 Pistol which has a string which loops around the neck. He comes with binoculars around his neck. The GI Joe dogtag protrudes from the jacket. Pull the tag and he speaks phrases in Russian.

The German wears boots, trousers, Panzertruppen shirt, Service Tunic, cloth crush cap, belt with holster containing a Luger pistol. Around his neck he has binoculars, headphones and a throat microphone. Pull his tag and he speaks phrases in German.

 

The Russian
