DVD MOVIE REVIEW:
LEGEND OF THE SEEKER: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON
by Brian Savage

Shot with state-of-the-art visual effects and with the exotic and rugged New Zealand landscape as its backdrop, Legend of the Seeker: The Complete First Season chronicles the extraordinary transformation of woodsman Richard Cypher into The Seeker, a magical leader who joins with a beautiful and mysterious woman, Kahlan Amnell, on an epic journey to stop the bloodthirsty, sinister tyrant Darken Rahl from conquering all mankind.

Although I have not made it through the entire first season. This seems like it is going to develop into a very nice fantasy series. It is based on The Sword of Truth novels by Terry Goodkind.

After watching the first few episodes, the story seemed to jump around a bit...but it looks like a great start in representing the novels. If you like Lord of the Rings, Eragon, Xena or Hercules, you will like this one. Plenty of sword battles, wizards and buxom beauties. The main characters are Richard (Craig Horner) who is the "Seeker", Kahlan (Bridget Regan) a "Confessor" who has magical powers and Zeddixus "Zed" Au'l Zorander (Bruce Spence) a "Wizard" who is to train the Seeker. These three ride the countryside trying to destroy the black lord Darken Rahl and gain the support and trust of the people. Even though Richard is the first true seeker in 1,000 years. I suggest that you don't wait that long to get your copy! Available now at your favorite DVD store!
