The Fantastic Mr. Fox follows a fox, voiced by George Clooney and dressed in a brown corduroy suit, as he cheerfully and recklessly takes his thieving ways a little too far and brings down the wrath of some sour-faced poultry farmers on his family and friends. Based on a lesser-known book by children's author Roald Dahl (who wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach), the movie is the work of Wes Anderson (writer-director of Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums), who expanded and elaborated on the original story.

The stop motion in the Fantastic Mr. Fox is absolutely FANTASTIC! This movie is based on the children's book of the same name by Ronald Dahl. The voice cast is absolutely all star with George Clooney and Meryl Streep and Bill Murray leading the "den". Since the children's book is a very simple tale, the director and lead writer Wes Anderson has added a fair amount of content to keep the story going. It starts off very slowly, but continues to build over time. The story actually has a very grown up theme of being true to your self that the children who see this may not get. However, mine thought the antics of the foxes and other animals was quite humorous. They enjoyed it a lot.

When you pick up this DVD at the store or rental outlet, make sure you watch the bonus features that shows how they do the stop motion photography and some of the challenges they face. As well as a short of Wes Anderson's vision and work on this film. He truly had a vision for this story.

Also, make sure you get the Blu-Ray version as it is the hopefully soon to be the standard 3 pack for all releases: Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital copy all in one!
