For the past three years we have made the trip to New York to bring you the best the toy industry has to offer. After pounding the pavement for five days we always sit back with a cup of coffee and try to get an overview of what we have seen. We are all collectors and every year we each have a short list of the toys we would love to take away from Toy Fair if we could.

This year we wanted to let you in on what really caught our collecting eyes. So here we present the Master Collector Online Toy Fair Hot Dozen for 2002. In no particular order...these were our favorites.

Integrity's Candi Line by Jason Wu

The big doll surprise of Toy Fair...all the dolls in this collection are fantastic. There are two stunning new doll models named Adele and Veronique. The other dressed dolls and fashions show a flair, sophistication and elegance that has been rare in the 12" fashion doll market lately. The color palate is clean, subtle and rich. In many ways, it delivers what Barbie collectors have wanted in the Mattel line. Jason Wu's collection for Integrity delivers high quality, fresh and original designs along with affordability. The high-end feel of the collector Candi line also spills over into the Janay playline. I predict that the new male character named Tariq will be a favorite among male fashion doll collectors in 2002.

"Eye of the Beholder" Dr. & Nurse

The Twilight Zone episode, "Eye of the Beholder," aired November 11, 1960. The episode's main character, Janet Tyler, is going to the hospital for the elventh time. This will be her last chance to cure a horrific visage before she is sent to a village where other ugly people live. After plastic surgeons unwrap the bandages from the final surgery, both doctors and nurses alike are sickened to discover there has been 'no change.' When Janet's face is revealed to the camera, Janet is beautiful by human standards, but, to our surprise, when the doctors and nurses remove their masks, they are hidesouly deformed. The message is clear: Beauty is in the 'Eye of the Beholder.' These highly articulated, 12 inch figures come with a doctor's stethoscope, a medical syringe, bandage roll, watches and complete doctor and nurse outfits.
