One of the big surprises at Toy Fair was the debut of a new line of highly detailed 12" action figures by Blue Box Toys. These fully articulated 1/6th scale collector quality figures come fully equipped for their jobs. The weapons and accessories are diecast metal. The uniforms have the kind of detailing only found in the best of the current line of 12" articulated figures. One interesting feature these guys have is a "Custom Expression Mechanism". This supposedly allows for the faces to change expressions. The six prototypes we saw were as detailed and authentic as anything we have seen and the line shows lots of promise as a hot collectible. The initial run will contain the following figures: S.W.A.T. Team Member, Marine Force recon, British SAS, Delta Force 1st Airborne, U.S. Navy SEAL and GSG-9 Ploizei Border Protection Group Nine. The figures will be distributed by specialty shops and should ship as early as late April or early May. The suggested retail price is in the $34.99-$44.99 range.
