2004 International G.I. Joe Convention
July 1-4, Walt Disney World
Resort, FL
“40 Years of Adventure”
Sponsored by Hasbro &
the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club
For 40 years, G.I. Joe has provided us with adventures for the mind and spirit. He has led us through the darkest reaches of jungles and across vast desert wastelands. He has hunted creatures and saved endangered species. He has battled enemies and repelled invading armies. He has been to outer space and the deepest depths of the oceans. He has fought COBRA and the forces of evil to make our world, no our universe, a safer place to live. He has been our friend, our hero and provided us with hours of entertainment. But best of all, he has done all of these things and we never had to leave our bedrooms, backyards or rec-rooms. For 40 years, G.I. Joe has taught us how to have fun with a toy by using only our imagination.

So join us in the land of imagination to celebrate G.I. Joe’s 40th Birthday at Walt Disney World® Resort! This 40th Anniversary convention, sponsored by Hasbro and the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club, will be a once in a lifetime celebration you will not want to miss!
Convention Premiums

This year, there will be two different convention sets that will fire the imaginations of both Vintage and Real American Hero collectors. These sets will be a great addition to anyone’s collection and will be cherished for years to come!

The 12” figure set celebrates two Unsung Heroes of WWII. In all of the military, there are no servicemen and women more courageous than medics. Their job on the front line is to give aide and to retrieve those in need. Thousands of medical personnel gave their lives during WWII so that others could live. This year we honor and recognize the efforts of two such medical personnel. The first figure in our two figure set is a Navy Corpsman. Our Corpsman is a Pharmacist's Mate First Class C Company 1st Medical Battalion 1st Marine Division attached to the 7th Marines. The Marines did not have their own medical staff so they used the Navy’s. All Corpsman went through the Navy’s basic training and then repeated basic training for the Marines. This meant that they could wear uniforms from either military branch (which was great fun for them when they were on leave...). Our Corpsman Field Uniform comes with HBT Marine Uniform,Web Harness and two Medical Pouches filled with medical supplies, Cartridge Belt, M2 Jungle Medical Kit filled with medical supplies, Helmet, Carbine Rifle, .45 Side Arm and Holster, two Canteens with Covers, K-Bar Knife and Sheath, Boondocker Boots and a Small Navy Hospital Pouch filled with medical supplies. He also comes with his White Navy Uniform (Jumper and Bell Bottom Pants), Jumper Kerchief Tie, T-shirt, Pork Pie Hat, and Black Shoes.

The second figure is an Army Medic, an Aidman from the 10th Mountain Division. This unit was created specifically to fight in extreme mountainous terrain using specially developed mountain climbing and skiing skills. He comes with 10th Mountain Division Pants, Wool Shirt, Buckle Boots, Web Harness and two Medical Pouches filled with medical supplies, Cartridge Belt, First Aid Pouch with Field Bandage, two Canteens with covers, two Red Cross Brassards, Red Cross Apron, Helmet, Combat Field M43 Jacket with M43 Jacket Liner and a Small Hospital Pouch filled with medical supplies. He also comes with his Army Service Dress Uniform which includes: Wool Flannel shirt, Khaki Tie, Olive Drab wool pants, 3/4 high Brown Boots, Garrison Cap, Olive Drab Wool Jacket (with engraved buttons), Pants and Belt.

The set includes two medical litters and comes in the same style convention photo box with art work from Larry Selman (current Hasbro artist). In addition, the extra accessories/uniforms will come in 40th Anniversary Window Frame boxes with art work from Sam Petrucci (original Hasbro artist, 1960s). This is a fabulous set that no G.I. Joe or WWII collector should be without! This set will make a great addition to your collection. Only 500 sets are available so don’t delay placing your order.*

The 3 3/4” set is entitled Dreadnok Rampage: Escapades in the Everglades will again feature 15 figures. NASA has developed a highly efficient low cost Fuel Cell at their engine development lab in Huntsville, AL. This top secret Hydrogen Fuel Cell will revolutionize the energy industry because of its high efficiency, small size, light weight, and enormous output. The Joe Team has been assigned the task of delivering this device to a secret Tiger Force Base deep in the Everglades for field testing. What they don’t know is that is a plot by Zartan to have his Dreadnoks steal this unlimited energy technology for the COBRA cause. He has really been disguised as General Hawk and has hand picked the Joe team that he expects to fail at this mission. Little does the Joe Team know that the Tiger Force Base is so secret, that it doesn’t exist! They are walking into an ambush set by Zarana and her new legion of Dreadnoks, the Dreadheads!*

The trio of Joes will be led by Beachhead and they will all be attired in Tiger Force Uniforms! The other two team members will be announced between now and the convention.

Zarana is in charge of setting the Dreadnok’s trap. With her will be four Dreadnoks that you will recognize, six new troop building Dreadnoks called the Dreadheads and a new Dreadnok named Crusher! The Dreadheads are cousins so they look very similar. They too hail from Beachhead’s home town and they have a personal score to settle with him.*

So to recap this outstanding set, you get three different Joe Team members, six Dreadnoks and six new troop building Dreadheads. This set comes in the same style illustrated box as the past two years’ sets and will make a terrific display with your existing collection Both the last two years’ sets have sold very quickly, so don’t wait to place your order. This set is limited to 750 pieces.*

Kennedy Space Center-Nasa Up Close

You’ve seen photos of Kennedy Space Center’s renowned launch pads. Now, you can visit these historic sites and more in person during the new special interest tour, NASA Up Close.

Each guided NASA Up Close tour is narrated by a space program expert, who shares in-depth and often little-known space facts during the 90-minute “mission” past the following areas:
· Space Shuttle Launch Pads A and B
· The International Space Station Center
This fascinating facility gives you an up-close glimpse inside the actual facility where NASA is preparing the real components of the International Space Station - the largest, most complex structure ever to be placed into orbit. Learn how the International Space Station is being constructed and the benefits it will contribute to humankind. An elevated observation room overlooks the actual processing bay where each space station module is checked out, processed and readied for its trip into orbit. Enter the full-scale mock-up of the Habitation Module and see the facilities that space station crew members will use for living, sleeping and working quarters. In the theater, shuttle astronaut Bob Cabana explains the purpose and importance of the space station, and the challenges it faces during construction. The International Space Station is “the dream that seemed impossible” - the most ambitious space program since the Apollo moon landings.

We will also see:
· The Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB)
· Shuttle Landing Facility
· Crawler Transporter and Crawlerway
Included is the Maximum Access Admission ticket which provides admission to all the Visitor Complex movies, exhibits and shows, including as many IMAX films as you can see in a day. Also included is the Kennedy Space Center tour and the Apollo/Saturn V Center, as well as admission to the Astronaut Hall of Fame. Lunch is on your own.
