Larry Hama is best known as a writer and editor for Marvel Comics, where he wrote the licensed comic book series G.I. Joe, A Real American Hero!, based on the Hasbro action figures. Not only did he write the G.I. Joe comic for 14 years, he also wrote all the file cards during that time. When someone thinks of writing for G.I. Joe...they think of Larry! He has also written for the series Wolverine, Nth Man: the Ultimate Ninja, and Elektra, and he created the character Bucky O’Hare, which was developed into a comic book, a toy line and a television cartoon. During the 1970s, he was seen on the TV shows M*A*S*H and Saturday Night Live. He also appeared on Broadway in two different roles in the original 1976 production of Stephen Sondheim’s Pacific Overtures. You’ll get to meet him in Atlanta and ask him all of your burning G.I. Joe plot and character questions!
Kirk Bozigian was the G.I. Joe Product Manager for the Real American Hero line of toys when it started. Kirk’s job back in 1982 was to bring this new action figure concept to market. Herb Trimpe is known throughout the comic world as a prolific silver age comic book artist and occasional writer, best known for his work on The Incredible Hulk and credited with the co-creation of X-Men's Wolverine in the early 1970s. His art was the driving force in the Marvel G.I. Joe comic during the early years. Herb’s G.I. Joe #1 cover art is one of the inspirations for this year’s 3 3/4” boxed set.
